This syrup is very helpful to ease an annoying cough, and will also help calm a sore throat.
You can combine equal parts of syrup with Apple Cider Vinegar to help with Laryngitis.
Simple and effective, just the way I like it!

My daughter is so picky, she wouldn’t take that one either. But thanks for the recipe 🙂 HerbMentor did one with regular onions, but I can imagine the taste of this one being slightly milder.
How cool! Does that really work? I wonder what it is about the combination of red onion and honey that soothes a sore throat and calms a cough? Thanks for sharing!! 🙂
Wow, this is GREAT info! Our little 9 year old is always getting coughs and the honeyed approach is brilliant. Great blog, great ideas and thanks for making the world an easier place to cough!

Sounds simple to make. I love natural alternatives. Thanks so much for this recipe!

Oh wow! That sounds like it would taste heaps better than conventional cough medicine too, which is awful! Thanks for the tip
Oh brilliant timing, my Mr13 is a spluttery boy at the moment. Thank you! #teamIBOT
My husband has a cold with a bad cough. I told him I could make him some homemade cough syrup. He said, “swell” with a heavy sarcastic tone. I had to smile. However, I do like home remedies. I’m an advocate for organic, whole food eating so this is right up my alley. Thanks!
I have been wanting to find natural cough syrup for sore throats, and this recipe seems very good! I love that it is sensitive enough for children!
