Last weekend Miss WW and I had a girls weekend away.
Thanks to our Physie club choosing to do an Interclub competition on the Gold Coast, it was the perfect excuse to get away for a couple of nights.
Miss WW and I hit Harbour Town on the way down for a spot of shopping before heading to the hotel to check in.
We had booked accommodation months ago at some ridiculous price as soon as the date for the competition was released.
A couple of weeks before we went away Miss WW was trolling the accommodation booking sites for a better deal.
We managed to book the Mantra Legends Hotel which is right in the heart of Surfers Paradise for a ridiculously cheap $120.00 per night.
When we checked in I honestly expected a room on the third floor overlooking the back dock.
Certainly got a big surprise when we scored Level 18 and a view like this….
The competition is an all day event and was held down at Burleigh Heads.
I did manage to escape the comp for a couple of hours with two other dance mums and we headed to the surf club for a bite to eat.
Not a bad outlook for what was mostly a grey day….
No weekend getaway is complete without some yummy food.
I have never eaten a Lemon Meringue donut before…..
One thing we always try and fit in to a trip down to the Gold Coast is to have lunch or dinner at Conrad Jupiters.
The Food Phantasea buffet is incredibly good value with so many yummy choices.
Over the course of the weekend we also had frozen cocktails, because I never say no to those, lot’s of coffee and a big walk along the beach.
How cool are these sun lounges?
We are so lucky to live only just over an hour from the coast and whilst many people don’t like the glitter and bustle that is the Gold Coast, I absolutely love it and will never say no to a weekend away.
Every single day I am so grateful that I get on so well with my teens and that going away with one or both of them is simply a joy.
Next stop……down to Sydney for National selections.
Fingers crossed for another year of Miss WW making it through to Nationals at the Opera House.
Do you have to travel for kids sport?

Oh, sounds lovely. I’m not working at the moment so haven’t been able to afford to have weekends away and the like but I wish I’d made the most of them when I did.
And a girls’ weekend sounds even better.
PS. Love those lounges cos they’d even hold my vast weight!
The lounges are simply fabulous, wish I had one for home.
