I HATE WINTER!
There is not a single thing I like about winter.
I hate being cold, can’t stand layers of clothes, and even snuggling up under the doona is not enough incentive for me to enjoy winter.
Summer, you can return now!
I might have been born in Melbourne, but I have acclimatized to Queensland weather beautifully. The only problem is Brisbane seems to have forgotten that we are sub-tropical and is way to chilly at the moment.
Grumble over!
I do like Hot Chocolate though……..actually I like anything chocolate.
Here are some awesome Hot Chocolate idea’s that might just help cheer up your winter’s night!
This is absolutely amazing, and is not suitable for anyone counting calories.
Simply heat 3 cups of milk, 150 grams chopped chocolate and 45 ml Baileys Irish Cream in a small saucepan until hot.
If you use a stab blender just before serving you will get it nice and frothy.
Top with cream and grated chocolate for only a few calories more. 🙂
How cute are these little hearts, made by freezing cream and then cutting into shape!
You could also use melted white chocolate, poured on to a tray and then cut into shape just before it has completely hardened.
These little chocolate shots would be great for dinner party or for a family movie night.
If you would like a really healthy version of hot chocolate, you can’t go past Natural New Age Mum’s recipe. It is choc full (excuse the pun) of goodness without any nasties. The kids will love the taste and you will love all the great ingredients.
Oh damn, the Hot Chocolate that I made has now gone cold as I got a bit carried away hunting down recipes!
If drinking chocolate is not your thing, why not try this great chocolate recipe for your bath.
What is your favourite Hot Chocolate drink?

In total agreement with you but don’t forget the bad frizzy hair from the fog! You can get it even worse in QLD! Woeful! Will be trying your drinkies here!
I don’t think I remember a winter as cold as this one in all the years I have been living in Brisbane!
Those images!!!
Unfortunately for me, I am counting calories so my hot chocolate days are over for a little while. I could smash a couple of those Baileys ones, just quietly.
I do make mine on light milk! 🙂
That hot chocolate sounds awesome! Know what I’m having tonight!
Good idea!
Thanks for sharing gorgeous xx
You are very welcome! 🙂
Definitely not a winter fan here, either! But those hot chocolates look really good, and how cute is that little mug cover?! x
I think we need them this year, just so cold!
Oh my! I do love my hot chocolate. I haven’t had Bailey’s in forever! You’ve inspired me! x
Love Bailey’s too!
This is the coldest winter we’ve had in years here in Bris-Vegas! I love a hot milo (made with milk in the microwave) in Winter, yes I do. But it has to be made by the hubster. It’s crap if I make it 🙂
I can’t do hot milo, just don’t like it, love it cold though.
I’m not minding winter surprisingly. There are cold moments, but on the whole it’s not that bad!
Am I weird?
Not weird, you are just probably enjoying the cold for a change after living in non-stop summer!
Yep – as a non coffee or tea drinker I LOVE my hot chocolates in winter 🙂
I love coffee and tea as well, but hot chocolate is lovely on a cold night.
My new hot chocolate recipe would have to the Baileys one. Yumeeee!
Love the frozen cream heart too, clever.
I so hear you…I am not in Winter – we are from QLD but are down here in NSW with our family {in our Motorhome} and i am never ever doing another cold winter!
Chocolate is my all time favorite, love the sound of your Hot Chocolate 🙂 Mind you I will have to work out double time at the gym 🙂
