We love cereals in this house, but what I don’t like is the huge boxes they come in and how hard it can be to find room in a not so huge pantry!
The other week, it was give the pantry an overhaul time……..something I choose not to do too often, but when you know there are things lurking in the background, like open packets of things that have not been sealed properly (thanks girls), it just had to happen.
One of my pet hates is deciding I want a bowl of cereal for brekkie, and low and behold, you grab the box, it feels very light, and yes, there is not even a spoonfull left in this great BIG box.
With 6 different cereals on hand, that is a lot of cardboard that takes up sooooo much room, and I came up with this little plan…
Β So I came upΒ with this plan.
1 Basket and a few pegs…..wha la…..major space saving!
I can now see exactly how much of each cereal we have left at any time. No more huge empty boxes taking up valuable space.
Just loving it, now what is next?

it looks like a good saving idea!
Gosh it took me ages to find the comment button! I love using pegs in the pantry (and the freezer). I try not to have more than 2 or 3 types of cereal in the pantry, otherwise the existential crisis over breakfast is just too much!
xx
We have so many, because we all seem to like different things. π
What a great idea! I have big open boxes of cereal too – this would be the perfect way to store them and save some space!
Thank you for sharing xx

My pantry just isn’t big enough, so I am happy with the extra space, that of course is magically filled with other stuff π
A simple, yet very effective solution Nikki – very practical!
I like simple things that just work π
Oh, good idea!! I definitely have to use that one!!
So glad you liked it π
Great idea! I hate how much space they take up and also when the bags are left open in the box – just asking for cupboard moths. At least this way, they will always be closed! π
Oh those damn moths, have had them before, fortunately not for a while π
